The signing ceremony of educational cooperation between Zibo Vocational Institute and Industrial Technical Institute of Cambodia was held at the Ministry of Labor and Professional Training of Cambodia on 15th November. The Vice-governor of Shandong Province, China, Minister of Labor and Professional Training and President of Industrial Technical Institute of Cambodia were all present at the ceremony. Mr. JIANG Yilin, Vice President from Zibo Vocational Institute signed the cooperation memorandum on behalf of ZBVI. Later all the distinguished guests attended the opening ceremony of the ZBVI-Cambodia Vocational Training Center.
The Minister of Labor and Professional Training Cambodia made a welcome speech at the ceremony and congratulated on the cooperation program between the two institutes. He spoke highly of the win-win joint program and sincerely hoped that with the help of the local governments, the program would soon produce constructive results.
Mr. Ji Xiangqi, Vice Governor of Shandong Province, China, also addressed at the ceremony: “China and Cambodia share a time-honoured friendship and the cooperation between the two countries has been deepened in recent years. Shandong Provincial Government has attached great importance to the cooperation with Cambodia in the field of economy, culture and education. The opening ceremony today is a great leap forward in the cooperation between the two countries. Shandong Provincial Government will actively support the program and hope the two institutes can promote mutual communications and find a better way to realize the vision and greatly benefit the teachers and students of the two sides.”
Industrial Technical Institute of Cambodia was founded in 1928 and lies in Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia. It is supervised by the Ministry of Labor and Professional Training of Cambodia. The Vision of Industrial Technical Institute is to cultivate skilled and virtuous professionals for the society and offers all the students’ academic and practical trainings. Now there are 1245 students and a teaching staff of 106. It has qualification of awarding Master’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, Engineer Diploma and Advanced Diploma and Training.
The ZBVI-Cambodia Vocational Training Center will mainly focus on Chinese education, staff and professional training. Industrial Technical Institute of Cambodia will send 10 teachers and some students to ZBVI to research and study. A branch of Zibo Vocational Education Group will be set up in Cambodia to train professionals for the local enterprises.
ZBVI has always been attaching great importance to international cooperation. In recent years, with the national “the Belt and Road” policy, ZBVI has developed a series of joint programs with many neighboring countries, such as exchanging students, teachers and joint educational projects. The visit to Cambodia is to follow the “Go Global” strategy of the Ministry of Education and has ended up in setting up the joint training center, and this will surely upgrade the academic level teaching ability and globalization of ZBVI.
